THE SYSTEM LIFE CYCLE

- Identify the problem:
In this stage, they will identify the problem in the system.

- Investigation and Analysis:
You investigate how the old system works and the problem(s) it is causing and then you analyse it to see how you can solve these problems.

- Design the system:
1) the screen layout is designed
2) the error message are written
3) the way that you will navigate from one page to another is defined
4) the menu buttons are chosen
5) the font style, size and color are picked
6) how data will be dealt with is specified
7) what documents can be printed out
8) the hardware will be needed

- Develop the system:
Develop the system after designing it to check for any errors. It starts to be written by the software programmers. They follow the requirements specification from the design stage and start to create the new system.

- Test the system:
Once the system has been coded, it needs to be thoroughly tested by a team of testers. the test plan will contain details of every single thing which needs to be tested. For example:
1) the system opens and closes properly
2) work can be saved
3) work can be printed
4) data is saved to the correct place
5) when you do something wrong, an error message appears
6) data which isn't allowed will be rejected

- Evaluate the system:
In this stage, the project manager has to review whether or not the project has been complete successfully.
